Can I request a custom order?
Custom orders are usually always available, but during some extra-busy times custom order option orders will be paused. The best way to check and discuss designs is to contact Katie here.
Can I have a memento or memorial piece made from items I supply?
Katie has made many memento pieces, typically using resin, to preserve and display children's first lost tooth, puppy's first lost tooth, flowers from a wedding arrangement, snips of fur, etc. The best way to find out if a custom piece can be made is to email us to discuss. Free consultations are available which can provide design ideas, price estimates and turnaround times. If the piece cannot be made without sacrificing the natural item to be preserved, we may decline the project.
It is recommended to provide extra material if available to experiment with and have options to choose from moving forward.
What do I need to provide to have a custom piece made?
All custom pieces require a 50% deposit before beginning. To determine how much this will cost, please contact us about the design and details. If you would like to have a piece made using your own materials (like a cabochon, pressed flowers, your pet's fur or teeth, etc.) you will need to send the items to the studio before the design can begin. Deposits will be collected once materials are received and reviewed. In some rare instances, once the materials are received, it may be determined that they can not be made into jewelry. In this case, the materials will be returned to you.
What shipping provider do you use?
USPS is the default shipping provider, and you can choose whether you prefer First Class mail or Priority Mail. Be aware, if you purchase Priority Mail and have ordered a made-to-order item it does not mean the item will be completed more quickly than the given turnaround time.
Do you accept returns on jewelry?
Epilith does not accept returns on jewelry. Please review all product photos, carefully read the item descriptions and if you have any questions, get in touch. Custom orders can be re-worked or re-sized for an additional fee. Ready to ship pieces may be eligible for an exchange. If you are purchasing a ring and do not know your size, please have a local jeweler size your finer or purchase this inexpensive (and helpful) ring sizer tool here.
How long will it take to get a made-to-order piece?
Turnaround times will be specified on the items individual page, but generally they are around 2-4 weeks. Each piece is carefully made and can include resin curing times which take up to a week on their own. If you need a piece expedited, please contact us it see if possible and discuss priority fees.
Will my piece look like the one in the pictures?
Each made-to-order piece is handmade and will vary slightly. The pieces using natural specimens will vary, but each specimen is carefully selected to be most similar to the aesthetic in the original pictures. Please contact us to see exactly what pieces re available to choose from.
Ready-to-ship pieces based on the made-to-order designs will occasionally be listed. To have an opportunity to see the exact piece available for purchase, subscribe to the mailing list for updates or check the ready-to-ship section.
